Art Practice: Leaves
Feb 04, 2021
Hello, Thursday.
I am trying to get used to my new watercolor paint brushes. They have a definite point despite the fact they are "round" brushes. I am used to "filbert" brushes which are decidedly more round (oval-ish, even), than a "round" is. It's going to take a bit to get used to them. Also, I'm teaching myself how to paint wreaths for cards, so I need to master leaves. And flowers. I see lots of practice time in my near future!
This was my first experience painting leaves for practice. It was lots of fun though I don't see any improvement from start to finish, but that's okay. They don't need to be perfect, they just need to look leaf-like. Ha!
One of my new borrowed phrases is "progress, not perfection." Credit to Patrick Smith.
