An Ice Storm!

Dec 16, 2020

The forecast said snow. Then it was updated to the infamous "wintry mix," my favorite. Finally, ice. We never saw the first snowflake today so we were heartily disappointed. Salt trucks are out en masse. I have snow PJs for when it snows, I do not have ice PJs. It is beautiful though. Despite a half-dozen power blinks (two of which caused Scott's computer to turn off), we never lost electricity. Fingers crossed for overnight. The rest of the week is bland by comparison. It warms up a bit and zero precipitation expected. I can't help but thinking that all of our recent rain should have been inches and inches of snow. And was in Christmases not so long ago.

Still Christmas-crunching along. I am determined to do most of my shopping for family online and locally. I'm not a big shopper and I note that everyone and their Uncle is doing the same thing, by the number of items "sold out" and shipping arrival not until 2021 arrives. I guess that was to be expected. Perhaps we'll have something like a Little House in the Prairie Christmas. Mittens, a piece of candy, and a shiny new penny. Gosh, that warms my heart. And really, with the tree lit, a few baked goods (eventually!), listening to music occasionally, and being together, gifts are not necessary.
