Art Practice: Wreath
Feb 22, 2021Hello, Monday.
When the day began I knew it was Monday. At some point in the afternoon, after a long intense morning's work, today had morphed into Tuesday in my mind. I remembered about a minute later--after I'd already texted "Tuesday" to someone. Whoops.
To balance my (tired) brain, I decided I needed art practice. I'd like to paint a 'decent' looking watercolor wreath in less than 20 minutes. The last nice one I made was several weeks ago, for an early January birthday, and it took me a full 90 minutes after watching a YouTube video that was done start-to-finish in 10 minutes! The wreath on the video was beautiful! That was daunting so I haven't made a greenery wreath since. So today I thought, let's just do this and not spend much time on it. It turns out how it turns out. It takes practice to get better at anything.
I see mistakes and things I'd do differently next time (if I remember!), but I get checkmarks for art practice in general, for making a wreath, and for being nice to my brain. I like giving myself checkmarks. Ha!
