Danielle's Birthday Dinner

Hello, Wednesday. 

Her birthday was last week but we rescheduled the first dinner attempt from last Friday to today due to weather. And who knew that on the next day we'd also have a fresh new Weather Advisory starting at 7 pm (updated from tomorrow morning) for more snow, sleet and ice (sure hope not!)? As time got closer to 7 pm, the Advisory shifted and the weather is not supposed to begin until after Midnight. So we had more time to sit and chat than we'd expected. 

Her favorite cake is angel food cake so I made that yesterday to make today less anxious for me. An easy cake to make until it's time to take it out of the pan and then you get what you get. It turned out okay. I've never had one look super good but they always taste good and I guess that's the point.

I made a chicken stew that is spiced with Asian-Indian flavors. Almost forgot to add peanut butter at the end. Whoops. 

She's 29 this year. She came into Spencer's life (and ours) five years ago. It doesn't feel that it's been five years, and yet. We all know how fast time passes. We're glad to have a 'daughter' in our family. (Photo tomorrow.)
