Gratitude
Nov 26, 2020My favorite holiday. Oh, I enjoy Christmas, too, but Thanksgiving is more relaxed and all about family and being together for the meal whereas Christmas has a bit of pressure of gift-giving and the many ways to celebrate.
And so, I’d like to just reflect on Gratitude. Both of my sons and my daughter-in-law were with us for dinner. There was a point early this afternoon when I was walking at the cemetery (had to take off my sweatshirt because it was 70 degrees!), and I looked up at the clouds and at the surrounding mountain ridge and thought of the 261,000 families who were perhaps not celebrating or celebrating while dealing with a loss in their family due to Covid.
And so, I’m extra grateful. We are so blessed. We want for nothing. We have love, we have food, we have a place to live, we have our health. Is life perfect? No, it is not. It doesn’t need to be. It’s good enough which is actually pretty darn good. Life is imperfectly perfect. Especially with a slice of pie.
