Haiku For You: Robins
Mar 20, 2021
Hello, Saturday. Hello, first day of Spring! Welcome! Whoo-hoo!
I may be a tad bit excited. The funny thing is that I almost forgot. Imagine that.
Two days ago, I was chatting with my son while he was tending his plants in the bay window when we saw three robins in the front yard. Spring is here!
Before I fell asleep last night, as I was close to falling asleep that is, my brain turned back on and this haiku popped into my head. Then I hoped I'd remember it in the morning. A few minutes later I got out of bed to jot it down. Then restarted the process of falling asleep.
...
three red-breast robins
bob, bob, bobbing along
nature's harbinger
...
One robin was very close to the window and I noticed the "red" wasn't really. It was more orange than red and I could swear I saw a few flecks of gold.
