Hello, 2021!

cards Jan 01, 2021

It's Friday. January 1. Hello, 2021! Welcome. Glad to see you.

I had a pretty good year in 2020. I was blessed. Fortunate. Grateful. My family didn't have any major problems with COVID-19 or other issues. We had less income but it wasn't devastating. Last May we sold our home because we are self-employed, so it was partly a protection move, and since it was never going to be our 'forever' home, we figured it may as well be someone else's now instead of later.

I took The Creative's Workshop (Akimbo Workshops) that ran from August through December. Loved it! Met kind like-minded people, received so much insight and loving support, and learned that I can show up when held accountable.

Yesterday I watched a tutorial video on making watercolor wreaths. The example in the video was painted start-to-finish in 10 minutes. Looked easy! It took me 90 minutes (ha!) to make mine after first practicing dozens of leaves with a new brush. I see flaws but overall I am happy enough* with the outcome. I need to get faster as I continue making them or I will not make a wreath for birthday or special occasion cards often. Hoping that will naturally happen over time with comfort and ease through experience.

* - This means that I am allowing my imperfect self to share my art "as is" with you.
